14. Recording
14.1 How It Works
The FOH stereo mix is always recorded whenever you press Record. When Multitrack is enabled in Settings → Recording, individual device input channels and record-enabled file tracks are also saved as separate mono files alongside the FOH mix.
14.2 Configuration
- Go to Settings → Recording
- Choose the format (WAV or MP3)
- Optionally enable Multitrack to also record individual channels
- In the Files section, enable the "Record" checkbox for file tracks to include in multitrack
- Click Apply
14.3 Recording
- Press the Rec button (●) in the header (Engineer) or in the Stage view
- If you are seeking to a position other than the start, a 2-bar pre-roll will play
- During pre-roll the Rec button appears semi-transparent red
- Actual recording begins after the pre-roll
- Press Stop (■) to finish
14.4 Output Files
Recorded files are saved to:
~/ESTE/songs/{song-name}/recordings/
File naming: {timestamp}_{name}.{ext} — the FOH mix uses the song name, individual channels use their channel names.
Examples:
- FOH mix:
20260306143000_Live Set.wav - Multitrack channels:
20260306143000_Vocals.wav,20260306143000_Guitar.wav
14.5 Notes
- The FOH stereo mix is always recorded (both with and without Multitrack)
- Recording does NOT capture audio during pre-roll
- Pre-roll lasts 2 bars at the current tempo
- Panic automatically stops recording
