ESTË Live User Manual › 13. MIDI

13. MIDI

ESTË Live supports MIDI files for two purposes:

13.1 Tempo Source

A MIDI file can be used as a variable tempo source. ESTË Live extracts the tempo map (BPM changes) and time signatures from the MIDI file. This is useful for songs with tempo changes.

Configuration: Settings → Tempo & Regions → Tempo Source → "MIDI File"

13.2 MIDI Playback

MIDI tracks are played in sync with the transport and sent to external MIDI ports (e.g., MainStage, lighting controllers).

Channel mode per track:

  • Remap: All events on a single chosen MIDI channel (default)
  • Passthrough: Original MIDI channels preserved

Note: During pre-roll, MIDI events are still sent (to set up program changes, controllers, etc.).
