9. Saving
Click Save in the toolbar (or when the button turns green indicating unsaved changes) to persist all tempo, time signature, region, audio clip, and MIDI track data to the song.
Audio clips are saved as file_tracks in the song JSON, including their timeline position and trim points. The original audio files remain untouched in the backtracks/ folder. MIDI tracks generate Standard MIDI files in the midi/ folder containing the PC/CC events along with tempo and time signature metadata.
Live playback integration: When a song prepared in Studio is loaded in Live, audio file tracks respect the timeline offset and trim points set in Studio. A clip positioned at bar 5 in Studio will only start playing when the Live transport reaches bar 5. If no offset is set (or for songs created directly in Live), file tracks start from the beginning as before. For details on Live's transport and playback, see Engineer View in the Live manual.
