6. Audio Track Editor

The audio track editor allows importing and arranging audio files (WAV/MP3) on the timeline.

Importing audio:

  1. Click the Import button in the toolbar
  2. Select a WAV or MP3 file from the native file dialog
  3. The file is copied to the song's backtracks/ folder and a waveform clip appears at bar 1

Editing clips:

  • Move — drag a clip left/right to reposition it on the timeline (snaps to grid)
  • Trim — drag the left or right edge of a clip to adjust the visible portion (non-destructive)
  • Split — activate the scissors tool in the toolbar, then click on a clip to split it at that position
  • Edit properties — double-click a clip to open the edit dialog (change name, color, view file info)
  • Delete — double-click a clip, then click Delete in the dialog

Waveform display:

Audio clips show a real-time waveform visualization. Stereo files display left and right channels mirrored around the center line. The waveform automatically adjusts to the clip's trim range and zoom level.
