6. Audio Track Editor
The audio track editor allows importing and arranging audio files (WAV/MP3) on the timeline.
Importing audio:
- Click the Import button in the toolbar
- Select a WAV or MP3 file from the native file dialog
- The file is copied to the song's
backtracks/folder and a waveform clip appears at bar 1
Editing clips:
- Move — drag a clip left/right to reposition it on the timeline (snaps to grid)
- Trim — drag the left or right edge of a clip to adjust the visible portion (non-destructive)
- Split — activate the scissors tool in the toolbar, then click on a clip to split it at that position
- Edit properties — double-click a clip to open the edit dialog (change name, color, view file info)
- Delete — double-click a clip, then click Delete in the dialog
Waveform display:
Audio clips show a real-time waveform visualization. Stereo files display left and right channels mirrored around the center line. The waveform automatically adjusts to the clip's trim range and zoom level.
